Lilly says more than half a million people have filled a Lilly prescription through the Medicare Bridge

| Coverage

On its third-quarter 2026 earnings call on October 29, 2026, Eli Lilly said more than half a million people have filled a prescription for a Lilly medicine through the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge since the program began on July 1. The figure counts people, not prescriptions filled, and it covers Lilly medicines only, not the whole program.

Lilly executives also said about 75% of people entering the Bridge go on to an injectable, about 80% are new to incretin therapy (GLP-1 type medicines), and 7 in 10 new patients start a Lilly obesity medicine. CEO Dave Ricks said Lilly wants the program moved into the Part D benefit, with carrier work for calendar year 2028, and said he is optimistic about permanent coverage. We first covered the Bridge in May.

Worth knowing: These are company statements, taken from a third-party transcript copy of the call; Lilly's own transcript was not checked. They are not independent data. The figure does not show how many people are enrolled in total, how long they stay on treatment, or what they pay.
